Here we will provide updates, highlight the people within Kidney Companions, and share stories and actions you can take in a broader community.

Summer is here in Traverse City! Summer can be a busy time for everyone in Northern Michigan, including Kidney Companions. We have several new Kidney Companion partners we will be introducing this summer, and we will be actively looking to provide them with a team of Kidney Companions! If you or anyone you know has any interest, please reach out; and to this end we will be holding a Volunteer Orientation this Tuesday, June 9th, at 11:30 AM at Grand Traverse Pie Company (525 West Front). https://www.facebook.com/KidneyCompanions

We also want to acknowledge a very successful Sloppy Joe Cookoff Fundraiser last month at Silver Spruce West. A special thank you to Silver Spruce for hosting and to Karen Copeland and friends for organizing. We raised more than $800, introduced Kidney Companions to several new potential volunteers, and ate a lot of tasty Sloppy Joes!

We host a monthly drop in gathering for all who are interested in learning about Kidney Companions. We will always have an existing volunteer there for you to ask questions and listen to their experience. This is a great time to explore your interest in becoming a volunteer or invite someone who you think would be interested.
