The Spring season with Kidney Companions has seen a lot of activity. We formed several new relationships that are now growing and blossoming into mature partnerships, with the explicit aim of achieving a kidney transplant. Most recently, we met with a new young Kidney Companion in Kalkaska. Our amazing Kidney Companion volunteers have been dedicated to being with her and working alongside her: guiding, assuaging anxieties, and ensuring the initial steps of the transplant process go smoothly. There is nothing easy about what we do; and transplant is not guaranteed. However, the fertile seeds planted by the unwavering dedication our teams commit to each Kidney Companion ensure a new level of optimism, hope, and confidence in our Kidney Companions partners. And regardless of the ultimate outcome with respect to transplant, we know that we have many guaranteed successes along the way.
