Thank you for being part of our Kidney Companions community.

Here we will provide updates, highlight the people within Kidney Companions, and share stories and actions you can take in a broader community.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the Trinity Health Kidney Transplant team will be opening a satellite clinic here in Traverse City. The recognition of the need for outreach and satellite locations for transplant evaluations is a direct result of the work of Kidney Companions. Through our advocacy, the unique hardships that patients living in rural settings have been brought to the forefront; and now we see tangible progress in the form of local clinics trying to overcome some of these barriers. We hope that this is just the beginning, and with our continued work and advocacy, we will continue to move the needle for our community and patients.

We are next meeting on Thursday, May 1st (instead of our typical second Thursday of the month). We have the back room reserved at the Filling Station to enjoy food and company.

We regularly gather for all who are interested in learning about Kidney Companions. We will always have an existing volunteer there for you to ask questions and listen to their experience. This is a great time to explore your interest in becoming a volunteer or invite someone who you think would be interested.

Join us Tuesdays at 9:15 am and/or Wednesdays at 11 am for a casual walk with lovely company. Email molly@kidneycompanions.org to be added to the group chat and information of whether we will be walking inside the mall or outside around the Commons.
