As we approach Thanksgiving, we should all take a moment to give gratitude for our community and the good fortune it brings us. As part of a community, we - as individuals - grant a certain portion of our selves to the greater collective identity. And as our bonds grow and deepen within our communities, we realize a new collective power to effect change. Whether we are bonded by a shared mission - improving access to kidney transplants - or a geographical boundary - Northern Michigan - we know that together we can create a shared prosperity, inclusive to all alike. In this past month, we celebrate a new kidney transplant listing for one of our Companions, a special birthday for another, and an incredible return home for another - a journey that was buoyed by the unyielding support of our Kidney Companion's community. In our modern society, we know we have to be extra diligent in creating the collective identities of community; please join us for our monthly social at Silver Spruce (on 8th Street), Thursday Nov 14th, 5-7 pm.
