Here we will provide updates, highlight the people within Kidney Companions, and share stories and actions you can take in a broader community.

Summer has picked up for Kidney Companions! We were welcomed to Friday Night Live in Downtown Traverse City on August 1st, where we met several people and shared our vision for transplant equity in Northern Michigan. We are also fortunate to welcome a new Kidney Companion partner, whom we met this past week. Several Kidney Companion volunteers met with our new partner, and we are forming a team to support him for an imminent kidney transplant. We have several other patients whom we expect to have a very active August, and we look forward to good updates in the weeks to come!

Given the busy schedules and the busy town, we are going to take a summertime hiatus from the monthly social meetings. We will see you back at the social on the second Thursday of September. In the meantime, join us for our twice-weekly Walking with Kidney Companions and socialize while enjoying the weather. Please continue to spread the word to help us replicate our amazing volunteers!
