Here we will provide updates, highlight the people within Kidney Companions, and share stories and actions you can take in a broader community.

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and have much to look forward to in 2025. We at Kidney Companions certainly have a lot to look forward to, and we are eager for new kidney transplants this year! We have two Kidney Companions who are active with several years on the waitlist, and we are fervently crossing our fingers that 2025 will be their year! We have one Kidney Companion on the waitlist but currently on hold status, pending some resolving health issues. We have two more Kidney Companions who have completed much of the transplant process, and with some upcoming concluding appointments, we expect a positive decision soon from the transplant committees. Finally, we have a lot of hard work ahead of us - the need for kidney transplants and our support to obtain those transplants continues to grow. There are several prospective Kidney Companion partners we hope to introduce you to in 2025, and their welcome in the Kidney Companions community will be a great addition. 

If you or someone you know is making more community involvement and volunteerism part of their 2025 resolutions, we’d love for you to explore joining Kidney Companions!

On the second Thursday of each month, we gather for all who are interested in learning about Kidney Companions. We will always have an existing volunteer there for you to ask questions and listen to their experience. This is a great time to explore your interest in becoming a volunteer or invite someone who you think would be interested.

We are still walking!

Join us Tuesdays at 9:15 am and/or Wednesdays at 11 am for a casual walk with lovely company. We will keep going in the winter, indoors at the mall or in the Commons at times.
